How to choose your Marbella area

A simple way to narrow down locations before you narrow down properties.

Begin with your routine

Think about an ordinary week, not only a holiday. Do you want to walk to the beach and restaurants, or would you rather have a larger home and a quiet setting? How often will you drive, and which schools, sports facilities or services need to be nearby?

Test your priorities

Choose three essentials and three preferences. For example, a sunny terrace and lift access may be essential, while a sea view is a preference. This makes trade-offs clearer when two homes have very different strengths.

Visit at different times

Walk the street, drive the daily route and return in the evening if possible. Noise, traffic, parking, sun and the feel of a neighbourhood change through the day and across seasons. Compare the precise address rather than relying on a broad area label.

Build a focused shortlist

Start with a small number of areas and ask what each offers for your budget. A focused search leaves more time to understand each home and less time crossing the coast between viewings.
